Money-saving app Hyperjar needed some extra oomph. So, naturally, I created monsters. Four charismatic creatures who symbolise the behaviours that get you into financial trouble: Gobbly, Frazzle, Mumpo and Squirm. I brought them to life in a series of cheeky unconventional bedtime stories. Check it out:

We all have our Money Monsters. 

The voices that tell us to spend, and spend more.

‘It’s boring to budget, to save is a snore!

Thinking it through? There just isn’t time!

Buy now and pay later – you’ll be totally fine!

And don’t say a word to anyone else –

They’ll judge you for failing to manage your wealth!’

It got very stressful. A real pain in the head!

Somebody needed to put our monsters to bed!

Then Hyperjar appeared! A magical app,

Protecting us all from financial mishap.

Now, we can set money aside in a jar

To pay for the groceries, the house or the car.

Or share jars between those we love most

And save up together for a trip to the coast.

We can even make jars for each place that we shop,

And give meddlesome monsters a reason to stop.

The more we use jars, the brighter they glow

And the more our finances can flourish and grow.

When we transform our habits and change how we spend

Our monsters change too - from foes into friends.
